Multi-Parameter Monitor
Our multi-parameter monitor allows us to assess various parameters so we can keep a close eye on our patients, particularly when under general anaesthetic. First and foremost our vets and nurses do physical checks on the patient but the additional information provided by the monitor is very useful to allow us to see the bigger picture of how the patient is coping with anaesthesia.
It allows us to monitor:
- ECG – Heart rate and electrical activity of the heart
- Pulse oximetry – Oxygen concentration in the blood
- Capnography – level of carbon dioxide in the blood measured by the expired breath
- Respiratory rate
- Blood pressure
- Temperature
