X– Ray Facilities
We have a dedicated air-conditioned x-ray imaging room with digital radiography equipment, which allows us to take x-rays of all types and sizes of pets from the smallest tortoise to the largest dog. Gone are the days of x-ray film developing in dark rooms and our digital equipment will generate an image on our computer screen in less than 60 seconds. We also have a visiting orthopaedic specialist who can provide 2nd opinion email advice on cases and provide surgery at the practice if needed.
Many people are familiar with ultrasound scanning for pregnancy, but it also provides a very safe way to examine internal organs such as the liver, kidneys, bladder, reproductive organs, heart and even eyes. Our patients are scanned in our quiet imaging room having cuddles with our nurses. It requires the hair to be clipped away over the area to be scanned and gel is applied, which facilitates a diagnostic image being displayed on the screen. Some patients may require sedation but often can manage without.
